Dr. Lomeo was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area in Pennsylvania.
He attended Washington & Jefferson College as an undergraduate in Washington, Pennsylvania. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry/Economics with Omicron Delta Epsilon Honorary in 1981. He went on to medical school at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in West Virginia in 1986. This preceded a rotating internship at Metropolitan Hospital in 1987. Afterwards, he did a one year General Surgery residency at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital in 1988. His residency in Otolaryngology, Head/Neck Residency at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan was completed in 1991. He is Board Certified through The American College of Osteopathic Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology Head/Neck Surgery.

His first year of practice was in the State of Colorado and the remaining time in the State of Michigan.
He specializes in all aspects of General Otolaryngology, concentrating on adults and pediatric ear, nose and throat problems. He was the first to do image-guided functional endoscopic sinus surgery, balloon sinuplasty, and eustachian tube dilatation in the State of Michigan. He has multiple publications and has presented posters at the American Academy of Otolaryngology. His practice encompasses all aspects of sinus surgery, head/neck tumors, salivary gland tumors, and thyroid tumors. He deals with all types of benign and malignant processes. He is well experienced in parathyroid surgery, obstructive sleep apnea surgery, laryngeal surgery, middle ear and mastoid surgery in both the adult and pediatric population.
